Kristen CHAN (she/her), president

Kristen is a freelance filmmaker, creative director, and senior in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences majoring in Communication (Media Studies) and minoring in film. Kristen’s favorite part about DKA is the people in it. DKA is a strong, creative, passionate community of artists and an even greater group of friends. DKA inspires Kristen to be the best filmmaker she can be, and she is better for it.

Annie riedel (she/her), Vice president

Annie is a writer, filmmaker, ameteur musician, and Polish food enthusiast. A double major in PMA and English, Annie's research focus is on literary adaptation and transmediation. Annie's favorite part of DKA is the wide range of people in the organization. Physicists, engineers, pre-med students and more make DKA the wonderful organization that it is. 

Minhchan Nguyen (she/her), Treasurer

Minhchan is a junior majoring in communication. Her interests revolve around film editing and audio recording. Her favorite part of DKA is getting to be a part of everyone's passion projects. 

 

Emily Vo (she/her), secretary

Emily is a Junior in the College of Arts and Sciences, majoring in Computer Science and minoring in Public History. She is passionate about filmmaking and the people in DKA. Her favorite part of DKA is the DEI events, semesterly production, and being in community with the amazing artists, musicians, filmmakers, and talented peers that are current and alumni members! 

 

Sofia Ozelli (SHE/her), programming chair

Sofia's a senior English major & film minor enthusiastic about storytelling. She's interested in filmmaking, film editing & film distribution and loves collaborating within DKA.

 

fannie massarsky (she/her), cinematic affairs

Fannie is a senior Psychology and PMA major. Primarily interested in directing slice of life films, Fannie is thrilled to have found a community of people in DKA who she can collaborate with and bounce ideas off of. DKA has provided a wonderful environment for Fannie to hone her filmmaking and teamwork skills in, and she cannot wait to take these partnerships with her into post-grad life.

 

VERONIKA Makoviak (She/her), Public relations

Nika is an international student hailing from Kyiv, Ukraine. Nika is deeply intrigued by the intricate process of political identity formation and the dynamic interplay between politics and culture. Nika is also an ardent enthusiast of film production and music, committed to expanding knowledge and skills in the field, and eager to explore and master various cinematic techniques. Nika believes in the power of collaboration and the potential for creativity and innovation when diverse talents come together.
